What is restaurant schema and why does it matter?
Schema is structured data added to your pages that tells machines, in a form they cannot misread, exactly what your restaurant is: the type of place, where it is, when it opens, what cuisine it serves. AI assistants and search engines lean on it heavily. A restaurant with clean schema gets read with confidence; one without it gets guessed at, and guesses lose tables.
Where do I paste the generated code?
Into the head of your homepage, or the page that best describes the restaurant. Most website platforms have a spot for it: custom code, header scripts, or an SEO section. Paste the whole block including the script tags, publish, and it starts working on the next crawl. If an agency runs your site, send them the block as is.
Is the generated markup valid for Google and AI assistants?
The tool outputs standard schema.org JSON-LD, the format both Google and AI assistants prefer. After pasting it, run your page through Google's Rich Results Test to confirm everything is read as intended. The result is only as good as what you type in, so keep names, hours, and prices exactly as they are in real life.
Should I include the menu in the schema?
Yes, if you can. The hasMenu block is the difference between an assistant knowing you exist and knowing what you serve. Dishes, descriptions, and prices in structured form are exactly what an assistant needs when a diner asks about vegan mains or the price of dinner for two. Keep it in step with the real menu: stale schema reads as untrustworthy.
